KSCORE FAQs

Find answers about KSCORE® scholarships, pre-licensing courses via Kaplan, and our proprietary KW Prep® program to help you launch a successful, limitless career in real estate.

What is Keller Successful Career Opportunities in Real Estate®?

Keller Successful Career Opportunities in Real Estate® (KSCORE®) provides a clear and accessible path for obtaining your real estate license. We offer scholarship opportunities for our proprietary KW Prep® program and state-approved pre-licensing courses provided by Kaplan Real Estate Education.

How long does it take to complete pre-licensing requirements?

Each state has different requirements to become licensed as a real estate agent. Once you enroll in KSCORE® and receive your scholarship, you'll have six months to complete the pre-licensing courses and final exams for your state, which can be done at your own pace, on your own schedule. Extensions may be available, if additional time is needed.

How are the courses delivered?

KW Prep® is a series of modules created by Keller Williams that you can complete online at your own pace. Pre-licensing courses, provided by Kaplan Real Estate Education, are provided in an online and self-paced format, with available live online and one-on-one supplemental options.

What are the steps to get licensed as a real estate agent?

Each state has different requirements to become licensed as a real estate agent. To get licensed in most states, you'll need to:

  • Take your state's required real estate courses.
  • Complete a background check and/or fingerprinting.
  • Submit a real estate license application.
  • Take and pass the real estate salesperson exam.
  • Join a real estate brokerage, such as your local Keller Williams® market center.

Be sure to confirm the requirements to become a licensed real estate agent in your state!

What is the cost to take courses through KSCORE®?

KSCORE® offers full scholarship opportunities for KW Prep®, along with the required pre-licensing coursework and exams through Kaplan Real Estate Education. That means there's no cost to you to complete your initial real estate pre-licensing education. Many local KW® market centers also offer partial scholarships for local, in-person pre-licensing courses. While KSCORE® will cover the cost of pre-licensing education, you will incur some licensing costs, which vary by state, when you're ready to complete the process and earn your real estate license.

What is my commitment to Keller Williams if I enroll in KSCORE®?

KSCORE® introduces you to the incredible training and support provided by Keller Williams® market centers. However, your enrollment in KSCORE® does not require any commitment to Keller Williams. Our goal is to reduce the financial barrier to entry into the industry and make a career in real estate more accessible than ever.
